Before you grab a tape measure, you need to choose your mounting style. Each offers distinct benefits and suits different windows and needs.

How to Measure

Before You Measure

Tip: If you’re unsure which mount to choose, measure for both options before making a decision.

  • Step1

Decide on Inside Recess or Outside Recess first

  • Step2

Use a metal tape measure (not cloth or soft tape)

  • Step3

Measure to the nearest 1/8 inch. Do not round up

  • Step4

Always write measurements as Width × Drop

Inside Recess (Recess Fitting)

  • Window Depth : Minimum 2.8" required.
  • Window Width : Measure the inside window width at the top, middle, and bottom. Use the smallest measurement.
  • Window Height: Measure the inside window height at the left, center, and right. Use the largest measurement.
  • Order Width = Window Width - 1/8"
  • Order Height ≥ Window Height (For Zebra Blinds: Order Height = Window Height)

Outside Recess (Exact Fitting)

  • Window Width : Measure the outside window frame width.
  • Window Height : Measure the outside window frame height.
  • Recommended Order Width: Window Width + 4" or more for better light control and privacy.
  • Recommended Order Height :
    Option 1: Window Height + 6" minimum.
Option 2 : Measure from the top of the intended installation point to where you want the blind to end.
